Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Units
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units, when compared for instance to plain sedimentation units, are economic and performing machines to achieve separation of suspended solids, and/or sludge thickening, floating them through the action of a rising air stream.
Air is dissolved under pressure into water to produce, once pressure is released, air bubbles with a diameter of 20 to 50 microns that saturate the whole liquid mass. The result is the formation of a light particulate that quickly rises forming a layer, continuously removed by a scraper, on the surface of the clarified water.
DAF units we trade are of our complete design and production.
We engineered the full system choosing among the best European brands and high quality components, we designed the structures in all particulars, with special attention and care to the pressurizing/air saturation group (the real “heart” of the system), looking after any detail in the assembling, wiring and finishing, so to have a safe, reliable and performigmachine with an excellent value for money.
The available models cover a wide range of capacities (from 1 to 80 m3/hour and more) and are suitable to be personalized for any particular requirement (lamella pack, additional pH-meter, ORP controller, selective electrodes for ionic compounds, chlorine controller and solids detector).
Our DAF units can be applied in wastewater treatment plants in dairy, meat and food processing factories, mechanical productions with oil and grease polluted wastewaters, oil refinery, mining, pulp and paper mills and many others and achieve about 30% removal efficiency of BOD5/COD and up to 90% of biological sludge, particles, fats and oils.
All our DAF units are made to last, completely built in stainless steel AISI 304 as standard, AISI 316 on request.
Our DAF units have full CE certifications and are supplied with complete use and maintenance handbook.
